After any dental procedure, proper care is key to a smooth, comfortable recovery
At King East Dental, we provide easy-to-follow post-op instructions to help you heal safely and get back to smiling with confidence.
General Guidelines After Treatment
- Take Medications as Directed: Follow the prescription instructions for pain relief or antibiotics carefully.
- Manage Swelling: Apply a cold pack to the outside of your face for 10–15 minutes at a time during the first 24 hours.
- Rest and Recovery: Avoid strenuous activity for at least 24 hours after your procedure.
- Oral Hygiene: Keep your mouth clean but be gentle around the treated area. Your dentist will advise if you need to modify brushing or flossing temporarily.
- Diet: Stick to soft foods and avoid hot, spicy, or hard foods that could irritate the treatment site.
Specific Care Tips
Depending on your procedure, whether it’s a filling, extraction, periodontal treatment, or cosmetic work, your dentist may give you additional, tailored instructions. Always follow these carefully to prevent complications.
When to Call Us
Contact King East Dental right away if you notice:
- Excessive bleeding that doesn’t stop after 20–30 minutes
- Severe pain not relieved by prescribed medications
- Signs of infection, like swelling, redness, or fever
- Any other concerns about your recovery
